New hires can enroll in the following benefits within 30 days of their start date:
- Medical and prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage
- Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
- Legal services
- Supplemental life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance
- Long-term disability
- Accidental injury, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance
If you don’t enroll as a new hire, your next chance to enroll won’t be until the next Open Enrollment period or if you experience a qualified life event.
Cost for coverage
The below rates are in effect for those hired on or after January 1, 2022. The amount you pay for coverage depends on which plan you choose and who you cover.

Eligibility
Associate eligibility
You can enroll yourself and your eligible dependents in Caleres medical, dental and vision coverage if you work at least 30 hours a week.
Eligibility for other benefit plans varies. View the Eligible Associate Chart for more information.
Dependent eligibility
You choose medical, dental and vision coverage separately so you can cover different family members on each.
Eligible dependents include your:
- Legally married spouse, as evidenced by an officially recognized certificate of marriage.
- Domestic partner (same or opposite-sex) who meets the Declaration of Domestic Partnership guidelines. Contact Dayforce at 1-866-279-4357 to request a domestic partner enrollment packet.
- Children, including your spouse or domestic partner’s children, who are:
- Under age 26.
- Unmarried dependents at any age who are unable to support themselves (with proof of incapacity).

How to enroll
When you’re ready to enroll, log into Dayforce and click on the ‘Benefits’ box.
Make sure you have the birth dates and Social Security numbers for any dependents you want to enroll.
Making changes
Outside of the annual Open Enrollment period, you can only make changes to your benefits if you experience a qualified life event, like getting married or welcoming a new child.
Leaving Caleres
Most of your benefits end on your last day. If you’re leaving or retiring from Caleres, review the Leaving the Company FAQs for information about what happens to your benefits.
Continue benefits through COBRA
You may be able to continue some benefits, such as medical, dental and vision, under COBRA.
You’ll receive a COBRA packet in the mail within 14 calendar days from the date your coverage ends. You have 60 days from your final day at Caleres to elect coverage and make the first payment.
Health Savings Account
You can take your Health Savings Account balance with you.
Flexible Spending Accounts
For Health Care, Dependent Care and Limited Purpose FSAs, you have 90 days from your termination date to submit claims for expenses incurred while you were an active participant. After 90 days, any funds remaining in the account will be forfeited.
