Change in Child Eligibility Status

When your child reaches a certain age, gets married, or attends school, their benefit eligibility may change.

Eligibility is different for health coverage than it is for other benefits.

Eligibility for health benefits

When your child turns age 26, they will no longer be eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage unless they are unmarried and physically or mentally unable to support themselves (proof of incapacity required).

Eligibility for all other benefits

Is your child getting married? Turning 19 or 25 if a full-time student at an educational institution?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, your child will no longer be eligible for benefits unless they are unmarried and physically or mentally unable to support themselves (proof of incapacity required).
