Maternity Leave

Pregnancy and pregnancy-related conditions are eligible for Short-Term Disability (STD) benefits.

Disability starts on the day of delivery unless your health care provider certifies otherwise, and HR Services approves.

STD benefits are payable for the period your health care provider certifies you are medically unable to work, pending approval by HR Services. Learn more about Short-Term Disability.

Maternity Leave is separate from and cannot be combined with Parental Leave or Adoption Leave.

Eligibility

You must be actively working at time of plan eligibility to receive these benefits, which are paid in accordance with your pay cycle.

Full-time retail associates, store managers, assistant managers and full-time manufacturing associates are eligible after one year of continuous employment. The weekly benefit provided is $385 for 16 weeks. This amount may be reduced by other income benefits.

Note:

  • If your STD claims is approved, benefits are payable on the 15th consecutive day of your disability.
  • If you wish to receive pay during the first 14 days of your disability, you must use sick, personal or vacation time.
  • You may use Family and Medical Leave to extend your time off.

Full-time Caleres distribution center hourly associates are eligible after one year of continuous employment. The weekly benefit provided is $385 for 16 weeks. This amount may be reduced by other income benefits.

  • If you wish to receive pay during the first 14 days of your disability, you must use sick, personal or vacation time.
  • You may use Family and Medical Leave to extend your time off.

All associates paid through the corporate offices, distribution center management associates and Famous Footwear/Naturalizer regional directors of sales and district sales managers are eligible after six months of continuous employment.

Note:

  • If you're enrolled in other Caleres, Inc. benefits, premium deductions will be withheld.

  • This plan coordinates with the Family and Medical Leave Act on matters of time off and job continuation.
